Introduction
Epilepsy is a complex neurological disorder affecting millions worldwide and remains challenging to diagnose and treat. In many patients, seizures are resistant to standard therapies, and in some cases, brain MRI scans do not reveal visible lesions. This project develops an advanced artificial intelligence system to enhance MRI images and detect subtle markers of non-lesional focal epilepsy. By enabling earlier and more accurate identification, the system will support clinical decision-making, reduce diagnostic delays, and improve access to effective treatments.

About us
We are a multidisciplinary research group at IBIMA Tech Málaga, dedicated to innovating in the use of deep probabilistic diffusion models and magnetic resonance imaging for the automated detection of non-lesional focal epilepsy. Our work, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, aims to revolutionize diagnostic accuracy and improve patients’ lives.
